Thank you for your interest in the Spyware Weekly Newsletter.
Be aware that this newsletter is how I pay for the web site. The newsletter is provided in HTML format (a text version is also available) and although it is free, it does contain an advertisement. The content of each issue will be identical to that of the online version at http://www.spywareinfo.net. The design will be the same, except for the top and side navigation areas.
Be aware that this newsletter tends to set off content-based spam filters because it is in HTML and because I might use certain "keywords" (such as "spam" or "porn") which the filter creators apparently assume only spammers know how to use. Check with your email provider to see if they filter your email. If they do, see if you can have them whitelist the newsletter. The address the newsletter comes from is newsletter@spywareinfo.com.
If you use one of those services that sends a challenge to email senders that must be answered before email is sent to your inbox, you will need to whitelist newsletter@spywareinfo.com and apache@www52.dixiesys.com. Please take care of that before entering your email address here. I will not answer a challenge and will blacklist any web site domain sending one (spamarrest, mailblocks, etc) to keep them out of my inbox.
Please do not sign up an address which uses an auto-reply of any sort. This specifically includes (but is not limited to) "out-of-office" auto replies. The newsletter goes out in the middle of the night. I don't want an auto-reply telling me you're not in your office at 3 o'clock in the morning.
If any of the reasons above mean that you will not be able to subscribe to this newsletter, it will always be available at http://www.spywareinfo.net/.
Also, in every issue you will find "Translation Needed" right at the bottom. This is something the mailing list software's author put in and I can't figure out how to remove it. Please do not send me the translation as several hundred people have already done so.
This is the HTML version of this newsletter (Example). Click here to subscribe to the text version or here for the short version. Remember to unsubscribe from any other version of this newsletter if you are switching versions. You can do that by clicking the link at the bottom of the most recent issue.
AOL.com email addresses are not accepted and will be purged from the database before each mailing.
The newest version of AOL's software is causing a very large number of false spam complaints. Apparently, they have put the "Report as spam" button right next to the "Delete" button and false complaints are being filed accidently every day in very large numbers.
AOL also has started blocking web traffic to web sites linked in spam complaints. I cannot afford to have my site blacklisted. It is a risk I cannot take. If this effects you, you will need to find an alternate email service, such as Hotmail or Yahoo, to subscribe.
I apologize for the necessity of this. Please direct any complaints to AOL and ask them to correct this unfortunate situation they have created.
The HTML edition currently has 19265 subscribers
